Summary: The Baader training consultant will train, observe and assess a team of skilled machine maintenance workers at production facilities and/or onboard vessels at various locations as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examines and assesses the Baader electrical systems (includes angle encoder, clock generator, proximity switches, limit switches, step motor and controller).
  • Recommends repairs or adjustments for the mechanical systems of fish filleting machines (includes chain drives, bearings, belt drives, pulleys, back guides, bone guides, step motor belts, gearboxes).
  • Provides recommendations for scheduled repair and maintenance programs.
  • Trains Baader Machine operating crews in safe and efficient procedures.
  • Trains and oversees Baader techs to set and adjust the machine's guides, knives, spike chains and sliding blocks in accordance with operational specifications and safety procedures.
  • Trains techs on maintenance and repair procedures and techniques.
  • Observes techs and demonstrates proper techniques as needed.
  • Determines appropriate machine adjustments by communicating with Quality Control regarding product specifications.
  • Completes product recovery tests as necessary to assess adherence to desired conversion factors and yield ratios.
  • Recommends and makes adjustments to ensure that the desired conversion factors and yield ratios are being successfully achieved.
  • Develops procedures and provides process improvement recommendations improving efficiency.
  • Tests the machines to verify step motors and tooling are set up and running properly.
  • Determines need for equipment overhaul and trains on installation as needed.
  • Reports progress and keeps plant management updated.
  • Attends meetings and reports to management as requested.
  • Completes evaluations of Baader Techs as requested and provides recommendations on level achievement.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Experience:

  • 10 years' experience repairing, programming and maintaining Baader machines.

Education:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications:

  • Baader Certificate or equivalent training and experience.

Preferred Training and Skills:

  • Proficient with basic TIG welding.
  • Proficient with basic fabrication skills.

Special Training/Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to supervisor and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
