Lead Software Engineer - Warehouse Management Systems

Remote with regular travel to Customer locations around North America

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of developing and enhancing our Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Distribution capabilities. You'll collaborate closely with various teams to contribute to Business Requirements Documents (BRD) and solutions design, ensuring alignment with larger project goals.

  • WMS Development and Enhancement: Developing new features and enhancing existing functionalities of our WMS - Manhattan Scale in particular
  • Analyzing and Addressing Gaps: Identifying functionality gaps and devising alternative solutions to address them effectively.
  • Integration and Deployment: Designing, developing, and modifying integration points for the WMS to ensure seamless data flow across various endpoints.
  • Collaborative Software Development: Contributing to the development, testing, and deployment of software solutions in coordination with other teams.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partnering with Product Owners, Support teams, WMS vendors, and other Software teams to identify issues and design solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Driving ongoing education and learning of new programming techniques and technologies within the team.
  • Team Mentorship: Mentoring other members of the WMS CE development team to foster skill development and growth.

What You'll Do:

As a Lead Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive technical leadership and collaborating with a variety of team members. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Technical Leadership: Collaborating with cross-functional teams at Maersk to drive common platforms and new services.
  • Platform Management: Managing and scaling the core WMS platform to support growth and meet new customer requirements.
  • Decision-making: Leading decision-making processes related to the selection of WMS software architecture solutions.
  • Technical Vision: Developing the technical "vision" and design specifications of assigned projects to guide implementation.
  • Best Practices Implementation: Ensuring industry best practices are implemented in terms of infrastructure, security, and support.
  • People Leadership: Inspiring and leading teams to overcome challenges and achieve goals effectively.

Who You Are:

We're looking for candidates with:

  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience in designing and delivering complex, high-performance application and integration solutions at scale. Including Cloud Environments, preferably Azure, and DB, like MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL etc.
  • Hands-on Experience: Solid technical background, with hands-on experience in warehouse management systems, preferably Manhattan Scale or Tier 1 WMS Systems. As well as C#, .NET and Web Services, we'd like to see experience with complex on-prem and multi-cloud ecosystem.
  • Strong Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and work effectively with global teams.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, supported by the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
  • Leadership Qualities: Proven experience in inspiring and leading teams, fostering talent development, and achieving high-performance outcomes.
