Overview

The ideal candidate for this position is self-motivated, self-disciplined, and able to work independently. Strong interpersonal and writing skills are critical. The candidate will perform a variety of engineering work including, but not limited to, initial planning, design phases, and construction support of substation projects. Ability to manage the civil/structural aspect of substation projects with little oversight. Performs other duties as required.


Responsibilities

  • Perform as structural engineering responsible for execution of structural calculations and design on a multi-discipline team of engineers executing complex engineering projects for clients in the utility, renewable, and oil & gas industries.
  • Coordinate with structural designers in creation and development of construction drawings.
  • May be responsible for multiple projects simultaneously

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or similar/related field, from an accredited school or University is required.
  • Minimum 2 years structural engineering experience in utility industry.
  • Must have excellent oral / written communication skills and ability to work well in teams
  • Ability to apply analytical or scientific thinking to define and solve problems and be able to execute field and office tasks
  • Experience with Risa3D, RisaFoundation, MathCad, Mat3D, SAP2000, STAAD, AutoCAD, LPile, Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.
  • Experience using applicable codes and standards (ACI, AISC, ASCE, ASTM, ANSI, API, IBC, OSHA, PIP etc.)
  • Strong attention to details
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate
