Job Summary

An Engineering Technician is crucial in running lab tests and technical evaluations in the research department. They are responsible for assisting with product testing and maintaining engineering lab equipment and calibration.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Support: Provide lab support to engineers and other team members by assisting with running lab tests and technical evaluations in the research department.
  • Testing and Analysis: Conduct experiments and tests on prototypes or existing systems, collect data, and analyze results to identify issues and propose solutions.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain accurate test records, test reports, and documentation related to engineering projects, equipment maintenance, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and calibration of equipment and instruments used in engineering processes.
  • Prototyping: Assist in building and assembling prototypes or models, including selecting and procuring materials and components.
  • Quality Control: Conduct quality control checks to ensure products and systems meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate with engineers to develop and implement solutions.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that engineering activities comply with safety regulations and best practices and participate in safety audits and inspections.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and project managers, to achieve project objectives.
  • Technical Research: Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices through research and continuous learning.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Graduate/GED. Technical degree preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with basic hand tools
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Ability to build, operate, and test industrial equipment

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

Primarily site based with less than 10% travel expected (primarily domestic to Ingersoll Rand testing and manufacturing facilities).
