The Job/What You'll Do

As a Retirement Sales Consultant for the leading provider of holistic support for independent financial advisors, you'll join an elite sales team vital to successfully creating and managing relationships with advisors committed to meeting their client's financial wellness needs. In this role, you'll partner closely with a Regional Retirement Consultant to develop your territory and uncover, cultivate, and close retirement plan sales opportunities to meet your sales goals.

As part of the AssetMark Retirement Services (AMRS) team in this rapidly growing space, you will help shape the future of Retirement Services by supporting the AssetMark advisor community's retirement plan needs including 401(k), Cash Balance, Solo(k), Pooled Employer Plan, Individual 403b, 403(b)/457 plans. You will be provided capabilities, products, ideas, and support to enable you to inspire your relationships to become the most impactful financial advisors they can be within the retirement space. The Retirement Sales Consultant will be based in Chicago, Phoenix, or Encino and will have a hybrid work schedule of in-office and working from home. Occasional travel to AssetMark sponsored events may be required.

We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to one of our following offices: Chicago, IL, or Encino, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Educate, advise, and consult with advisors, acting as a subject matter expert on our retirement offerings including 401(k), Pooled Employer Plan, 403(b), 457 plans
  • Promote growth in sales production with the existing advisor base by proactively calling advisors to identify advisor needs and opportunities
  • Cultivate an ongoing consultative relationship with top advisors and develop a strong partnership with our generalist (ensemble team) sales force.
  • Develop creative re-engagement prospecting campaigns and win assets from advisors who have not recently done business
  • Collaborate across the AMRS team and with your sales partners in your territory to develop best practices & initiatives specific to your geographical area
  • Assist the Regional Retirement Consultant in setting up client events, managing communications with our partners, and conducting onboarding/enrollment meetings virtually

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Consultative sales approach
  • History of success in previous roles while exceeding personal & sales goals
  • Ability to communicate and sell over the phone, by email, and in person
  • Territory management & ability to partner across sales and service teams
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • A self-starter who takes initiative and can work independently
  • Prior Salesforce.com experience

Education & Experience:

  • 5 years of client service or sales experience
  • 2 years of experience working with Retirement Plans
  • FINRA Licensed: 6 or 7 and 65 or 66.

Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $50,000 - $75,000.

This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
