Job Summary

VSolvit is looking for a candidate to join our dynamic Business Development team as a Competitive Pricing and Market Research Analyst. This position has dual responsibilities for developing price and cost models for proposal submissions and to assist with market, customer, and opportunity research for federal government information technology contract opportunities. This position will report to our Pricing Analyst Team Lead and will be expected to support both pricing and market research analysis roles simultaneously. The level of support to each responsibility area will be determined based on current Business Development team needs.

Competitive pricing analyst duties include analyzing competitor pricing matched with market expectations to determine the ideal target price for information technology based professional services and working with complex data examining industry standards and pricing strategies of competitors to help the company to identify and set competitive prices. They study consumer habits to determine how much people are willing to pay for various services and look for patterns in Government customer spending. The candidate will act as lead pricing analyst for medium to large proposal efforts creating price analysis worksheets, pricing cost worksheets, and proposal cost narratives.

Market research analyst duties include market, customer, and opportunity research for federal government information technology contract opportunities. This includes developing opportunity, client, and competitor analysis reports and updating VSolvit's customer relationship management (CRM) database for targeted contract opportunities. The candidate will be working in a fast-paced environment and able to adapt to changing priorities and needs supporting capture managers, proposal managers and executives.

The candidate must be highly organized, attentive to detail, comfortable supporting multiple/simultaneous research analysis and pricing analysis assignments, deliver measurable results on a daily basis, and be able to work independently in a remote work environment.

Candidates for this position must be eligible to attain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

Pricing Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Lead pricing support for specific proposals by performing and supporting Competitor Analysis, Win-only Indirect Rate Analysis, and Price-to-Win, as well as building and updating pricing model for large, strategic proposals
  • Lead the creation and analysis of relevant information and develop recommendations that they present to senior management
  • Develop pricing for proposal submissions by working closely with the capture manager, technical team, and the proposal manager
  • Maintain complete files to include required supporting documentation
  • Performs cost analysis and estimates for complex proposal efforts, consistent with company policies for RFI/RFQ/RFP/Solicitation requirements
  • Works as an integral part of the capture/proposal team, assisting in the development of pricing strategies, identifying risks, and interpreting solicitation requirements
  • Leads pricing Analysis and Salary Survey Research
  • Maintains current knowledge of the competitive environment
  • Perform reviews of proposals priced by other pricing analysts for quality assurance purposes

Market Research Analyst Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze data on customer needs and buying habits to identify potential opportunities with new and existing customers
  • Assist in the forecast and support the tracking of Government acquisition and spending trends, analyzing collected data (Government Acquisition training provided)
  • Gather data on competitors and conduct strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis
  • Analyze other company capabilities and experience to determine qualified partners
  • Monitor industry statistics and follow trends in trade literature
  • Support customer and partner outreach, opportunity research and requirements analysis

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Marketing, Business, History or English
  • 2+ year's experience supporting research or analysis
  • 2+ years' of corporate customer service and supporting project management
  • 2+ years' performing marketing and grant research, or web research and analysis
  • 2+ years' of web portal navigation, queries, interpreting qualitative and quantitative data
  • 2+ years' Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • 2+ years' Google Suite (slides, word, excel, and Gmail)
  • 2+ years assessing the competition strength, weaknesses, pricing, their offerings, unique strengths that we need to offset
  • 2+ years conducting competitive analysis, gathering competitive intelligence
  • 2+ years' preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates and cost narratives in support of proposals submitted to the government
  • 2+ years' direct federal procurement experience
  • 2+ years' experience working with proposal pricing using RFP-provided information and industry estimates, executing salary determinations and justifications, and developing pricing models for federal agencies
  • 2+ Years demonstrated experience using market survey research tools
  • Experience and knowledge in developing pricing for CPFF, Fixed Price, T&M opportunities
  • Familiarity with government contracting to include pricing, financial analysis, and contracts with federal agencies such as DOD, USDA, NIH, HHS, and FDA.
  • 2+ years monitoring and interpreting industry statistics and trade literature
  • 2+ years assessing the competition strength, weaknesses, pricing, their offerings, unique strengths that we need to offset
  • 1+ years conducting competitive analysis, gathering competitive intelligence
  • 1+ years of writing experience related to software development, technical writing or project management
  • 1+ years of proposal development experience related to software or enterprise technical solution for the Federal market
  • 1+ years capture, business development or proposal development experience in the Federal sector
  • 1+ years demonstrated professional writing skills using proven tools and established methods
