This position is remote and you have the option to elect into a 9/80 flex work schedule. The pay range for this position is between $80,300 - $89,220 annually.

Summary

Under the general supervision of the Director of Research and Evaluation, the Research and Evaluation Manager will be responsible for supporting the Director and Division Director in managing, directing and leading program evaluation projects and processes agency-wide. The Manager will be responsible for overseeing the outpatient, residential, and substance use program evaluations and other grant funded programs, supervising research assistants and specialists, creating reports, developing interactive dashboards and data visualizations, and engaging with agency leaders, stakeholders and staff to promote and facilitate the effective collection and use of outcomes data.

Primary Duties

  • Supports the Director in overseeing program evaluation processes agency-wide including clinical outcome and program data collection, entry, analysis, and reporting.
  • Ensures that outcome and program data are accurately tracked, processed, and reported to meet contractual obligations related to the Department of Mental Health and other funding entities.
  • Supervises Research Assistants (RAs) and Research Specialists (RS) in the Division, which includes providing feedback and work direction; tracking attendance and evaluating performance; recruiting and hiring; delegating work; encouraging and fostering professional development.
  • Uses human resource best practices to engage in flexible and supportive feedback and management styles that foster open communication.
  • Consults with the Director to manage program evaluation and research activities including evaluation designs, goals and objectives and identifying and/or developing instruments (e.g. surveys, interview protocols, criterion-referenced tests, etc.).
  • Independently designs, directs, conducts, and draw conclusions from complex research related to the evaluation of the agency's clinical and programmatic outcomes.
  • Develops and utilizes complex databases, spreadsheets, charts, graphs, reports and tables to present findings and conclusions. Consults with Director to interpret and disseminate program evaluation results to agency staff and leadership.
  • Provides oversight of clinical outcomes collection including Division databases and software along with Department of Mental health outcomes data system.
  • Manages and coordinates data requests from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Initiates and maintains effective working relationships with employees and management.

Position Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Sciences or related fields with 2+ years of program evaluation/project management experience in community mental health or similar settings.
  • Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of program evaluation in community mental health or similar settings
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access)
  • Advanced statistical analysis skills, including knowledge of SPSS/SAS/R. Experience using R for data management, analysis, and reporting preferred.
  • Working knowledge of data base systems (e.g. Electronic Health Record system, REDCap, iCarol, etc), data base management, and data visualization software preferred
  • Ability to distill results into a few key points and present them in written, oral and graphical formats.
  • Strong project management, organization, communication (verbal and written) and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize assignments and meet required deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret statistical data for various stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs by acquiring new skills and knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a face-paced environment with changing priorities by being flexible, collaborative, responsive, and adaptable.
  • Current California driver's license, car insurance, and a driving record acceptable to the Agency's insurance carrier.
