Overview

We help people discover the world's most powerful mapping software. Using actionable insights to tackle complex challenges, you will develop and implement a scalable verbal strategy within our UX design system. Your work will contribute directly to our future-thinking design initiatives across Esri.com. Responsibilities

  • Managing UX interface copy at scale
    • Own and create a high-impact, forward-thinking vision to help shape the future of how we integrate plain user-focused language around guidance, instructions, and feedback across esri.com and digital experience touchpoints
    • Be in the room for project scope and requirements gathering in collaboration with project managers, strategists, and researchers
    • With a deep understanding of user experience, you will craft clear, concise, and compelling instructional copy (complex instructional flows, button labels, navigational items, and error messages)
  • Guidelines and Best Practices
    • Establish and maintain a UX writing style guide with content writers that ensures consistency in voice, tone, and terminology across interface experiences
    • Advocate for accessible and inclusive language, ensuring content is comprehensible for everyone, anywhere, on any device
  • Feedback Integration
    • Use experiments and feedback to help refine, optimize, and improve content over time
    • Be our UX micro-copy evangelist: have an opinion, use your voice, mentor others, and communicate the value of UX writing

Requirements

  • 5+ years specializing in writing interface copy and unifying user experiences in a business-to-business (B2B) software company
  • Strong knowledge of research, testing, and analytics tools (such as Adobe Analytics, UserTesting, Airtable, Mouseflow, Microsoft Power BI, Optimizely)
  • Case studies showing impact in B2B and B2C environments
  • Digital Commerce and Customer Onboarding experience a plus
  • Experience with Figma design systems and libraries
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to make complex ideas understandable
  • A clear passion for experimentation and for crafting tactics needed to improve user experience and drive increased performance
  • Bachelor's in human-computer interaction, user experience, interaction design, applied social science, or a related field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Familiarity with web accessibility standards, including I10n, i18n, and translation
  • Knowledge of geographic information system (GIS) technology, mapping, and analysis applications is a big plus
  • Master's in human-computer interaction, user experience, interaction design, applied social science, or a related field

Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is
$93,600$160,160 USD
