The work of a Cargo Services Supervisor includes but is not limited to managing, coordinating and controlling all aspects of a cargo warehouse operation including the monitoring of the quantity and quality of work and its performance, directing personnel within the assigned functional area, overseeing and advising on staff requirements, participating in the training, mentoring, coaching, counseling, discipline, hiring and termination of subordinates, ensuring compliance with Company rules and regulations, Company standards and contractual agreements, ensures control and manning requirements according to workloads.

Responsible for cargo warehousing including receiving, dispatching and staging and transporting air freight, air mail, and other cargo in the AGI warehouses, operating motorized vehicles as related to the operation, ensures the routine housekeeping of work areas, ramps, equipment and facilities with or without powered equipment and other duties and functions related to the foregoing.

This position may include responsibility for communication between individual customers and the Company. The scope of the job may vary with the size of the operation and its primary line of business.

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities

  • Well versed computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

  • Ability add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to interpret extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

  • Work with minimal supervision

  • Cognitive skills to set priorities and use independent judgment.

  • Must be able to handle stress in a fast-paced environment and ensure deadlines are met.

  • Ability to concentrate on detail.

  • Ability to lift 50-70 lbs.

  • Adhere to safety practices and programs.

  • Ability to multitask.

Education and Experience

  • Two years related experience and/or training preferred.

  • Valid US driver's license.

  • Successful completion of required airport badging process and pre-employment drug screen is required.

As an airline services provider, Alliance Ground International requires its employees to be able to work flexible schedules which may be adjusted to meet operational demands such as flight delays, cancellations, adhocs, etc., Strict adherence to company attendance policies are expected and enforced.
