Job Description:

The Valuation Services Manager for the Advisory Services group will be actively involved in business development opportunities in the Los Angeles, CA market. We're looking for a nationally focused team player to deliver on business development and client engagements while collaborating with other Crowe practices to build cross-functional relationships.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist our clients in their financial reporting valuations, tax restructuring, transactions, and key capital projects by providing them with decision support materials including valuation of businesses, assets and debt instruments, financial and business models, complex quantitative analyses

  • Contribute to the targeting, marketing, and preparation of proposal materials and client coverage to develop new businesses

  • Plan, delegate, and execute valuation engagements to completion for mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, tax, regulatory compliance, restructuring and reorganizations, corporate services, and strategic planning purposes within a variety of industries

  • Perform valuations and manage valuation teams on projects, with the ability to multi-task between several projects independently

  • Manage client relationships to become the lead for designated key clients

  • Consult with clients in all aspects of the valuation process

  • Must be able to articulate deal issues and document accounting issues clearly, with a concise writing style for the preparation of reports

  • Perform reviews of third-party appraisals for audit support purposes

  • Actively seek and support new revenue opportunities for the firm by identifying innovative strategies to create business opportunities for desired markets

  • Identify opportunities to add value to existing clients or to capture new clients by providing them with targeted effective ideas and solutions

  • Provide value-added strategies or services to support clients in achieving their business objectives and to assist clients in resolving issues by matching an in-depth understanding of client's business with expert knowledge of industry trends, benchmarking data, and valuation expertise

  • Improve brand awareness, visibility, and business opportunities within the firm and in the external market

  • Mentor, supervise, train, and develop staff; provide performance feedback and suggestions for improvement

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field required

  • Valuation or relevant accreditation required for managers (ASA, CFA, ABV, CPA considered)

  • Demonstrated experience and strong technical background in fair value measurements and reporting (e.g., ASC 805/IFRS 3, ASC 350, ASC 718)

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience related to valuations of business entities and interests, intangible assets, purchase price allocations for financial reporting, transactional/corporate planning, and tax purposes, with a Big 4, Top 20 public accounting and advisory firm, or national valuation firm

  • Strong experience performing business assessments and analyses, experience in contingent consideration (earn-outs) and share-based award valuations (SARs, options) a plus, purchase price allocations, valuation of intangible assets and liabilities, preparation of valuation reports/schedules

  • Strong knowledge of corporate finance, financial accounting, US GAAP, SEC reporting, mergers and acquisitions

  • Experience in project management and analysis in the field and at local Crowe offices

  • Excellent analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving abilities

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Must be self-motivated with a positive attitude; ability to work independently on multiple engagements simultaneously with competing priorities including building client relationships in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, results-based environment

  • Proven ability to effectively interact directly with internal Partners & Directors, as well as client personnel

About The Team:

The Valuation Services group sits under Advisory Services (AS) which provides transaction support, bankruptcy and restructuring advisory, valuation, corporate finance advisory, litigation, dispute resolution consulting, and forensic investigation services. AS provides strategic vision and training to Crowe International's Global Corporate Advisors (GCA), comprised of corporate finance professionals from independent Crowe Global member firms. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Crowe, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $105,400.00 to $215,318.00 per year.
