Senior Linux Systems Administrator

The Core Systems department is looking to hire a Senior Systems Administrator to be an integral part of the Engineering and Core Systems Team. An eligible candidate needs to be passionate about technology and know how to best meet engineering and business needs. The Systems Administrator will utilize and maintain existing technologies along with establishing effective processes to provide the highest levels of system availability. An outgoing and can-do attitude is important to complement the rest of IT.


Roles and Responsibilities:

*Manage Engineering servers/workstations, O/S and vendor installation/patching, and EDA tool licensing.
*Manage engineering and business storage systems
*Manage and troubleshoot Revision Control and Job Scheduler systems
*Evaluate, develop, and implement processes and procedures for streamlining and standardization of Linux environments.
*Escalation point for Engineering L3 IT incidents and helpdesk tickets
*Occasional Travel to MACOM sites for IT project support

Job Qualifications:

*US Citizenship required
*4+ years Linux and Storage Administration experience with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related discipline
*7+ years of IT related experience
*5+ years' experience semiconductor design engineers in CAD/EDA issue and maintain tools, licenses, storage and compute servers.
*Strong knowledge and working experience of RedHat, CentOS, NIS, ONTAP
*Hands on experience with installing and supporting Storage solutions: NetApp, EMC, QNAP
*Comfortable with basic networking
*Experience installing and managing EDA license servers and tools (Cadence, Synopsys, Keysight, Ansys, Solidworks, and other EDA/CAD related tools)
*Working experience with Revision Control: SVN, CVS, RCS, Perforce, and/or GIT
*Working experience with job schedulers: LSF, SGE
*Hands-on experience with installation of Servers, switches, filers in server rooms/data centers
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills
*Demonstrates strong work ethic
*Ability to work independently and in teams reaching high levels of productivity

Other Special Skills that would be a plus:
*Certifications in relevant technologies
*Experience with Atlassian tools JIRA Service Management & Confluence
*Apache, Tomcat and any other Java application servers and relational database servers experience
*Proficiency in Perl/TCL/Python or other scripting languages.

Salary Range: $83,790 - $136,710
Actual salary offered to candidate will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, work location, relevant candidates' experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
