Job Description

Skyworks is looking for Sr. RF Validation Engineer to join highly successful and energetic Mobile Solution Business team in Irvine, CA! As a Validation Engineer, you will be a key contributor to bringing our new products to market by ensuring our products meet the defined performance and functionality and that meet our customer's performance demands.

You will be paired with a mentor to help support you as an integral part of a team responsible for designing custom parts.

This is a high-impact role in a dynamic work environment, and your scope of responsibilities will include:

  • Write Validation plans based on marketing and product requirements and specifications

  • Design and develop engineering PCBs (schematic capture, layout review) and test fixtures

  • Specify and configure laboratory test benches

  • Automate validation and characterization test flows through software and scripting

  • Support initial product bring up and debug

  • Characterize product performance across process, voltage and temperature

  • Report bugs, performance to the broader product team including marketing and design teams

  • Collaborate with our cross-functional teams and will report project status/progress

Job Requirements
  • BS and 5years experience required or MS
  • Good understanding of RF parameters like Gain, NF, intermod, VSWR, S-Parameters, load and source-pull systems.
  • Experience and familiarity with cellular systems, bands, tests, 2G/3G/4G related specs
  • Experience and familiarity with testing, evaluation and debugging RF, analog and mixed-signal IC designs in a lab environment. Should be proficient in the use of network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, signal generators, oscilloscope
  • Experience setting up and running bench and automated test with signal generators, network analyzers, Noise figure meters, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, temperature chambers, tunable filters & other associated equipment
  • Experience working with evaluation boards and automated test setups including board-level rework
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and should be comfortable in explaining technical concepts to a wide range of audiences including more senior engineers and management teams

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD$87,600 -$167,900per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others. Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan, and certain roles are also eligible for additional awards, including recognition and stock.
