We have an exciting opportunity for Software Engineer onour Bare Metal Network Security team in the Application Networking and Security Division (ANS).

You will be part of a tightly knit and fast paced team that will work in an agile environment. We focus on ease of deployment and solving key customer security challenges. The Bare Metal Network Security team is growing fast and looking for engineers who share our passion for innovation network security, distributed systems etc.

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

  • You will contribute to the leading Data Center Security Platform for Private Clouds

  • You will collaborate effectively with other engineers and researchers to solve complex problems.

  • You will bring your knowledge of distributed systems and network security as needed.

  • You will be driven and passionate about understanding customer needs and crafting high quality solutions to meet those needs.

  • You will contribute to complex software solutions that have resulted in significant market impact.

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

  • Deliver product features in a highly scalable distributed cloud security product.

  • Participate in all phases of the software development cycle as part of an agile team.

  • Collaborate with the team to deliver high quality code with tests in place to prevent any regressions.

  • Lead and participate in code reviews.

  • Write design specifications and document your work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters in Computer Science & Engineering and 10+ years related experience.

  • Solid knowledge of OOP concepts, object/data modeling, and data structures.

  • Deep working knowledge/expertise in GoLang/Java, Distributed Systems, Kubernetes.

  • Expertise in building highly scalable and performant, micro-services applications.

  • Exposure to virtualization, networking, SDN, and security management technologies.

  • Exposure to firewall and end-point security concepts.

  • Open vSwitch networking is a plus.

The hiring manager for this role is Aarti Lolage, Manager, ANS Division. Her team focuses on Bare Metal security for NSX.Her background is in SDN, Layer2 network virtualization and SaaS. She has worked on multiple NSX releases.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $126,000 - $210,000.

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
