In this role, you will serve as the Lead of the Patient Navigator team in the Santa Monica Hematology-Oncology clinics working to optimize the patient experience by assuring smooth patient flow, minimal wait times, and overall patient satisfaction.you will be expected to use in-depth knowledge of UCLA Health's processes and resources to creatively and effectively facilitate patient care and the overall patient experience. You also will act as a customer service advocate within all aspects of patient care working in a team setting that provides communication support to patients and their families, physicians, and clinic staff.


Salary range: $22.03/hr - $43.68/hr

Qualifications

Required:

  • Ability to make independent judgments and to evaluate complex issues.
  • Administrative abilities to resolve complex and sensitive issues with diplomacy.
  • Oral communication skills to speak with individuals of varying backgrounds to obtain and convey specific information.
  • Skill in working independently with a minimal amount of direction.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with physicians, staff, patients, and administrative personnel.
  • Knowledge of contact persons in order to direct patients to appropriate departments in an effort to resolve issues and provide patient-related materials.
  • Ability to speak to individuals using appropriate grammar and vocabulary to obtain information, explain policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of medical oncology terminology.
  • Working knowledge of University policies, procedures and forms as they relate to performance of job duties.
  • Skill in performing duties with frequent interruptions and/or distractions.
  • Computer skills should include working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as experience with electronic medical record systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of appointment and encountering procedures.
  • Knowledge of insurance authorization and verification process.
  • Skill in analyzing information, problems, situations, practices and procedures.
