ABOUT THE JOB

You will join TTMs Advanced Manufacturing Group. Currently composed on 2xtool and die makers and 2-4 of their apprentices, 1 lead electromechanical engineer, 2 mechanical engineers, 2 electrical engineers, and 1 software systems engineer, all working towards the goal of advancing and expanding manufacturing capabilities through hardware and software development, test, and implementation. Here are some of the things that you would work on in the first 12-18 months.

  • Developing our SCADA system into a manufacturing execution system.
  • Interfacing with the company's existing MES and Planning system and managing the data flow between systems
  • Working on software to control new equipment.
  • Developing algorithms for control of manufacturing processes Developing a workable API to communicate with our Oracle ERP.
  • Working with Engineers and Team lead to develop scalable software development practices
  • All members have a role in researching across our discipline and suggesting new areas of focus.
  • Supporting multi-plant automation working groups in your area of expertise. Develop requirements and begin development of new system for controlling our flagship machine tool
  • Mentoring interns and new engineers in your area of expertise.
  • Developing short curricula and training as requested in your area of expertise.

Who you will work with: The engineering team listed above + Software Systems engineer and Security Engineers based in Syracuse, 1 Sr. Software Engineer based in Binghamton.

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for a candidate with ability to rapidly learn new technologies and concepts and integrate them into practical systems. Ideally this candidate has done an internship with TTM automation program OR another company in industrial automation who is familiar with the concepts of motion control, process and equipment control, and some of the advanced technologies in the automation industry (additive manufacturing, computer vision and AI). The primary focus of this role is programming and software development, so there should be a facility with 1 or more programming languages and concepts with computer engineering.

Our team will be 12-16 when you get here and 16-20 potentially over your first 18 months - two years. You would either be familiar with working with small diverse teams or have a strong desire to do so.

You should have familiarity with scalable software practices from working in a software group with multiple developers or on an open source project.

You should have a passion for building things, demonstrated by previous work or projects.

You should have 2-5 years in industry.

This role will provide software support to a diverse set of technologies and projects, so you should have a broad interest in technology and its advancement.

Most commonly used languages are Python and C, but practical development experience and a desire to learn are the key requirements for the role.

Compensation for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, TTM provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that my be hired in New York, California and Colorado. For California-based roles, compensation ranges are based upon specific physical locations.
