About The Opportunity

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for effectively and efficiently maintaining, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment, as well as performing preventive maintenance following corporate standards for quality and safety.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate commitment to quality and perform job duties in adherence to GMP guidelines
  • Train other employees (as directed or needed)
  • Communicate effectively with associated personnel (both verbally and in writing, speaking clearly in English and/or Spanish) in all phases of the operation and processes
  • Operate cranes, truck or motor vehicles
  • Operate fork lifts and/or powered industrial equipment
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
  • Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of work area
  • Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors

Essential to this position

  • This is a 1st Shift/Mid-Shift position - Core hours are 10am-7pm but some flexibility may be required to meet business needs.
  • This position may be required to work overtime
  • The wage range for this position is $29.92-$40.68. Wage is based on experience.

Education Desired

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Other Certifications Required Or Desired

Certified Millwright Maintenance Journeyman desired

Work Experience Required

3 or more years of Industrial Machine Maintenance experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand 6-8 hours
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. maximum
  • Frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent bending and lifting
