The Building Coordinator will work with school and department leadership and UCLA/UCLA Health service providers to proactively maintain and improve the good physical working environment in the health sciences footprint for the UCLA Health Sciences Schools' faculty, staff, students, patients, and other visitors.

Physical scope includes the areas within the DGSOM Dean's Office span of oversight, in which you will serve as a member of the team who supports all locations, though you may be assigned to one particular building or area for primary coverage. In this role, you will plan for and provide oversight of space in this footprint not assigned to any one department, as well as to interior and exterior space resources shared among the UCLA Health Sciences Schools.

Monthly Salary Range: $5,299.73 - $11,697.77

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree or Facility Manager Certification or 3-5 years' experience, which must include experience among some or all: facilities, construction, administrative, operations, and/or project management.
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
  • Project coordination and/or management skills, demonstrated in execution of independent work on short-term projects, especially small construction, or renovation projects.
  • Demonstrated English written and verbal communication skills (writing sample required) to distribute messaging (1-on-1 and mass messaging) to stakeholders, protocols, plans, and/or document resolution of work orders.
  • Collaboration skills, including meeting scheduling, agenda preparation, and meeting facilitation.
  • Strong word processing skills, especially Microsoft Office suite, and demonstrated experience or ability to learn to use other software tools, such as Microsoft Excel, Access or other database software, survey creation, queuing software, project management software.
  • Ability to lift/move 50 pounds and spend up to 75% of total time on foot.
  • Ability to perform physical work such as moving and relocating small equipment.
  • Ability and willingness to consistently and punctually work on site at predetermined hours (likely 0700-1600, with occasional scheduled deviation; some scheduled, episodic remote time may be possible).

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of skilled trades (electrical, plumbing, etc.) and construction-related practices preferred.
