Job Summary:

The Housing Supportive Services (HSSP) Community Worker is a direct service provider to Intensive Services HSSP adult client and their families, functions according to the Intensive Services process, and participates on the clients' multi-disciplinary team. The Community Worker operates from a strengths-based, client-centered, team-driven, community-based perspective. The Community Worker will practice solution-focused problem solving. The Community Worker provides outreach, support, advocacy, system orientation, mentoring, and other supportive services to clients. The Community Worker assists in the provision of services to clients by providing linkage and rehabilitation.

The Community Worker must be able to work from a strength-based perspective with clients. This position requires the ability to demonstrate empathy and understanding when working with clients. The Community Worker must be able to work independently and utilize organization and time management skills to meet the requirements of the position. This position requires knowledge and understanding of the health, mental health, or social services programs to which the position is assigned to and the problems of the community group being served.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (BA) in psychology, social work, or related field, together with at least six (6) months of experience working with clients in a social service position.
  • or Bachelor's degree (BA) in non-related field, together with at least one (1) year of experience working with clients in a social service position;
  • or high school diploma and two (2) years of experience working with clients in a social service field
  • or high school diploma and 1 year of experience working with chronically mentally ill adults in an Intensive Services Program.
  • Bilingual Spanish Preferred (verbal skillset only).
  • Valid California driver's license; current automobile insurance; have and maintain a clean driving record acceptable to the organization's insurance company; have immediate access to his or her vehicle during work hours.

Position Location: North Hills, CA

Hybrid work schedule and service delivery via telehealth on occasion available.

Flexible schedules are available upon successful completion of introductory period.

Salary Range: $20.34 up to $29.36 per hour

Additional $1.00 per hour bilingual Spanish differential.

Experience
1 years: Working with adult population who have a history of being unhoused, sufferings from mental health issues, and struggling with alcohol and drug abuse. (preferred)
