Position Summary
The Rental Attendant monitors the implementation of assigned recreation activities and program supervision of renters in the building, working directly with clients and other staff as needed.
Essential Functions
General Responsibilities:
- To create a safe, engaging environment for Salvation Army associates, guests, members, volunteers, partners and vendors.
- To develop appropriate relationships and maintain appropriate relationship boundaries with other Salvation Army associates, guests, members, volunteers, partners and vendors.
- To complete annual, advanced training to include, but not limited to: Protecting the Mission, Sexual Harassment, and others as determined.
Specific Duties:
- Assist in the supervision of building rentals and groups.
- Supervise members, programs, and activities as assigned.
- Provide customer service, information and resources about ARS programs as needed.
- Enforce facility safety rules, regulations and procedures.
- Complete and report all accidents and injuries if necessary.
- Act as personal representative of The Salvation Army and insure that all clients are treated courteously. Immediately report any problem in pick-ups to direct supervisor.
- Assist with the distribution of food boxes by working directly with the Food Pantry Coordinator and distributing appropriately sized food boxes to clients and families of various sizes.
Working Conditions
Must be able to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Must be able to grasp, push and pull objects such as general office and small recreational equipment. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- Must Be at Least 18 years old
- Must complete certification for Protect the Mission policies and procedures.
- Background check required.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Driving Test and clean MVR check (if applicable).
- Bilingual/Bi-literate English/Spanish is preferred.
- Must have ability to work with, direct, and relate well with co-workers, community members, and guests/clients.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Able to function in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment.
- Must possess good relationship skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours including mainly weekends and evenings as needed.
