General Description- Direct and control all elements necessary to support manufacturing and production of compressed air and dryer packages within the Houston Product Company.

Roles and Responsibilities -

Oversight and management of the methods, directing, and operations of all planning, assembly, test, paint, fabrication and plant maintenance activities relevant to compressed air products

Partner with the Production Supervisor & planner to ensure the effective planning, coordination, and direction of all production activities as they pertain to material, labor, and burden.

Participate in the manufacturability and lean activities that utilize the technology and skill of the personnel available within the plant, while maintaining close contact with marketing/sales and engineering departments to avoid wasteful duplication or inappropriate use of assigned resources.

Formulate, establish, execute and administer programs for development, procurement, improvement, utilization and maintenance of plant buildings, grounds, equipment, facilities and services on a short and long-range basis.

Provide regular reporting of production results and trends. When deviations from the business plan occur, propose and implement corrective actions to bring the business back in line with planning.

Optimize the utilization and efficiency of labor by identifying, developing and providing improved tools, methods, processes, plant layout, material handling and movement, equipment and facilities, and by determining, setting and issuing consistent, challenging yet attainable labor standards. All efforts should incorporate the concepts and practices of continuous improvement with the aim of achieving
a lean manufacturing organization.

Work with the Operations Manager to establish appropriate growth target for the facility's products. Monitor performance and variance to budget and take action as appropriate to achieve plan.

Serve as an interface between engineering, purchasing, quality and production team to keep production moving and reduce production downtime.

Identify and implement digitalization in production activities to improve operational efficiency by using IT technology & infrastructure.

In partnership with Safety and Quality, encourage and support 6S program within the shop environment.

Oversee and maintain the management of the security system for the facility.

In conjunction with OSHA law and/or requirements, apply safety training processes when performing all work in order to reinforce practical safety training techniques, maintain awareness and prevent injury.

Follow the Atlas Copco "Safety First" policy with the vision of zero work related accidents. Take all necessary actions to employ sustainable processes to safeguard the company's targets for Quality/Environment/Safety, Health and Energy/Resource Efficiency.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications -

Experience- Seven to ten years of relevant operations experience in a manufacturing environment.

Education- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial engineering or equivalent experience.

Skills- Proactive and dynamic performer with strong leadership skills, motivated by challenges, careful with details and always in search of a better way. Guided and driven by results, capable of managing a team towards those results in a fair and constructive way. Able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines, comfortable with empowering their team and delegating to reach these goals. Genuine interest in business operations, management processes and negotiations.
