Working under Vice President of Sales & Sales Operations, the Team Lead of Sales Category Management & Analytics will be leading a team of Category Managers & Forecast Analyst who will work to provide data analytics, sales insights, build budget and manage forecasts. This role will act as a subject matter authority when interacting with other departments such as Marketing and Production. This position will be responsible for designing and crafting a reporting suite to be used on a consistent basis by the sales team to drive business growth. The Team Lead will need to continuously train, develop and set future strategy and vision for their team.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set vision and strategy for best-in-class category analytics team supporting IFG Sales.
  • Manage team structure and responsibilities to best align to current and future business needs.
  • Lead the team development to build capabilities and provide strong results and output through demonstration, training, feedback and measurement.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a data library and reporting suite to measure shipments and consumption.
  • Lead team of Category Managers who will be owners over the brands and business reporting.
  • Own the sales budgeting process to establish annual budgets, ensure accurate input into the system, lead S&OP discussions and ensure forecast accuracy.
  • Lead development of tools for multi-level organization and brands to provide visibility of the business, predict opportunities and provide recommendations using fact-based insights.
  • Manage utilization of reporting tools such as IRI, ShopperSights, EYC, Retail Link, Spins along with other available databases in order to understand the current business and identify future opportunities.
  • Analyze account specific POS or available syndicated data and provide relevant recommendations to achieve market share, merchandising flow, and promotional objectives.
  • Help manage selection and budgeting of data tools and resources for maximum output and ROI.
  • Provide visionary leadership to identify business opportunities/solutions for short- and long-term business decisions by continually develop consumer and category insights.
  • Serve as subject matter in all areas of budget, sales trends, forecasting and insights.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) preferred or 10 years+ experience in the CPG field.
  • High level of comfort with computer systems and the ability to quickly learn how to operate specific systems, i.e. IRI, Blue Planner, Tableau, etc.
  • Must have the ability to work with large pieces of data and manipulate it to create compelling stories.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to travel 20% of the time

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE)

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret industry data (IRI, 8451, EYC, Retail Link, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate and work optimally across functional groups.
  • Ability to think strategically and translate strategy into operational tactics.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Windows Office Suite applications.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to optimally present information and respond to questions from groups of managers.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of college algebra.
