Genesis10 is seeking a Mid Level IT Project Manager for a contract position with our client in Norhtridge, CA.  Will be remote to start but eventually go onsite.

  • Work with product managers to define improvements to business processes, assist decision-makers in gathering information to make decisions, and help quality assurance test solutions
  • Work with technical leads, product managers to plan, develop technical scopes of work and manage the execution of projects/product changes in response to requirements from our stakeholders 
What is your target years of experience?  Bachelor's Degree 4+ years of experience in project management or master's degree 2+ years of experience in project management.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Experienced with software development activities for Data Science projects.
  • Lead broad scope projects that have shot term to long term focus
  • Work with product managers to define improvements to business processes, assist decision-makers in gathering information to make decisions, and help quality assurance test solutions
  • Work with technical leads, product managers to plan, develop technical scopes of work and manage the execution of projects/product changes in response to requirements from our stakeholders
  • Act as a champion for data science capabilities by communicating their benefits and how they can be implemented
  • Manage feature planning: Drive estimation, work breakdown, and resource allocation.
  • Lead project teams during all phases of the development life cycle including requirements gathering and analysis, design, build, pilot, implementation and continuous service
  • Facilitate client and project team interactions including scrums, sprint planning, sprint retrospectives, sprint reviews, incident management and release management
  • Create, track and maintain the schedule, drive intermediate deliverables, and ensure project commitments are met.
  • Report work goals to management and identify impact on overall project schedule.
  • Understand process requirements for developing regulated medical devices and ensure development activities are compliant to our procedures.
  • Understand technical issues and escalate issues as needed and drive them to resolution.
  • Work collaboratively and professionally with outside organizations while dealing with organizational complexity and competing priorities.
  • Ability to communicate schedule changes and challenges both to management and to the development team.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
  • Leads or leverages cross functional teams to evaluate, develop and manage projects
  • Manages the development and implementation process of a company's products and services involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products and processes.
  • Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
  • Monitors the project from initiation through delivery.
  • Gathers requirements, works on requirements planning, requirements elicitation and requirements management to ensure they meet demands of project's key stakeholders.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress for intervention and problem solving.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, objectives.
  • Communicates with stakeholders, obtains stakeholder engagement to ensure the end products or processes will solve the business problems.
Qualifications:
  • Education Required:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Sciences
  • Years of Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree 4+ years of experience in project management or master's degree 2+ years of experience in project management
  • Proficient with project management tools and techniques, such as JIRA, Confluence, Scrum and Kanban
  • Must have experience with agile development and backlog planning/grooming
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, conflict management, coordination, and planning skills with cross-functional teams
  • Skilled in applying judgment to balance process compliance with achievement of business objectives
  • Project leadership experience focused on engaging others in the delivery and execution of technical solutions and service deliverables
  • Ability to assess a project's scope and the team's ability to execute
  • Outcome oriented with the ability to drill down from the big picture to process details
  • Ability to communicate objectives, plans, status and results clearly
  • Strong leadership skills and influencer
  • Ability to collaborate across diverse teams and organizations
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
Nice to Have
  • Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related Engineering field
  • Experience in Software Development project management – preferably with data science teams, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
  • Experience as a software engineer
  • Experience working in a regulated industry
  • Experience applying Agile, Scrum or Iterative Development Methodologies
  • Experience in medical software development process such as IEC 62304 or other regulated software development
